Larkin’s Letters by Jillian Jax – Book Review – “Beautifully Written Love Story”

Larkin’s Letters by Jax Jillian

As Ryan Boone struggles to come to grips with not being able to keep a promise he made to his dying wife, Larkin’s Letters propels readers into the mind of Ryan as he struggles with frequent visits from her ghost and a series of letters she left behind.

Ryan has worked hard to become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors, but no matter how famous he became, he always remained loyal to his childhood best friend, Larkin James. When Larkin is diagnosed with leukemia, Ryan sacrifices his career to be by her side and in turn realizes how much he had always loved her. Throughout Larkin’s sickness, Ryan promised her he would never let her die alone. But we learn that not all of our promises are always within our control.

This story is a beautifully written love story. It’s difficult to describe the feelings I felt while reading this book.

Ryan and Larkin have been best friends all of their lives. They realize they are in love with each and it’s the type of love that is so deep it brings you to your knees. They are the other half of each other’s souls.

We are reading this story through Ryan’s POV through the letters Larkin has left for him after she passes away. Through the letters we see the relationship go from best friends to the relationship of deep emotional love. We also see the struggle she goes through with her illness. Ryan is having a hard time dealing with loss, but through the letters he heals and learns to deal with the debating loss of his true love. The letters tear him apart at the same time, it so very emotional

I highly recommend reading this book even with all the sadness and emotional turmoil. They have an awesome, true, and deep love I wish for everyone to have. Great first novel for this author, it definitely will pull you in and keep hold until the end.

**I was given this book in return for an honest review.
